Wow, this has been a really long and busy week. My mom came in to town to stay with me while Chris went on his trip. It was so nice to have someone get up with Maggie and change her diaper at night. Mom would bring her to me and say, "Okay she's ready to eat." I appreciated her help so much. I hate that she had to go back home today. She could just move in forever and I'd be happy. We still had quite a bit going on this week, so she probably is glad to get home and finally rest and relax. I did hit my limit today when the air conditioning showed signs of having problems again today. Cross your fingers for me that the AC guys are out early tomorrow. For now I'm bunking over at the in-laws house. Thanks goodness MIL thought to give me her keys!
I have missed Chris being here a lot and I think Cam has too. We've bunked down together every night, except last night because Pawpaw was in town. Cam was animate that Pawpaw had to sleep in his room when he came to visit.
Every time I talk to Chris he's doing something really fun and exciting and it's almost like talking to a kid in a candy store. "Oh we did this and then we saw this and then we played here." I think it was such a good idea for him to get to spend this time with both his dad and his brother. I was thinking back on the last time the Chris & Erik had extended brother time together. It had to be at least 5 years ago when Erik lived with us in Euless. That's a long time to go without getting to just hang out and have fun with your favorite (okay only) brother. Not that we haven't seen them at the holidays and so forth, but it's a bit different.
The boys have already told me that they plan to make this an annual (maybe semi-annual) trip. They are going to pick an away Rangers baseball game travel to that city, see the game, play a round of golf and come back. At some point, I'm promised, Cameron will be traveling with them. I think he'd really like that, because he's missed his daddy a lot this time.
I think it's only fair that I'm going to have to start picking a city to visit and go on a girls trip to it. My first pick is Vegas in either April or May. We'll see how Chris handles the kids by himself. I have a feeling that they will spend quite a bit of time at Nana & Pops' house if I'm away for a few days.
And of course, we have a family vacation coming up next month to visit that big whale in San Anotnio. Can't wait to see what Cam & Maggie think of that.
