Please Pray for the Wims Family
I'm just going to pull the post from the Wims family and post it on here so you can receive an update on Brad's condition.
This is Lisa Hanna posting on behalf of Brad and Jenny. Brad began this AM (Sunday) feeling extremely short of breath. They waited a while for this to dissipate, but it did not, and actually got progressively worse. They called the doctor, and made a decision to call Hospice. The nurse came out and gave Brad some medications to ease his breathing and anxiety (stemming from his difficulty breathing), which do indeed help, at least for a while. We are not sure the exact cause of his sudden deterioration--there is a long list of possibilities. However, what we do know is the power of God, and even in this desperate hour, we are still pleading and praying for His miraculous healing. Brad is courageous, and fighting--his strong spirit and sense of humor in the face of these circumstances is awesome to see. We all know that there are so many people praying and pleading on Brad's behalf, and I know that Brad, Jenny, David, Sandra, and the rest of us are so grateful and comforted with that knowledge. Please continue to pray--and knock it up a notch! Thank you.
They have asked that calls and visits be limited to family, so we are doing the next best thing to being with Brad - praying for him. Please, join our family as we pray for the Wims family. And as Lisa posted, kick it up a notch.

My Big Fat Jones Feet
Mommy and Daddy took me shoe shopping on Sunday. Yes I know I got a ton of shoes from showers and hand me downs, however none of them seem to fit quite right. And I'm sure you've noticed that it's been a bit colder lately, especially on my little toesies. So since brother requires wide and extra wide shoes we stopped at the New Balance in Cypress. I got all measured and I am a WIDE. Can you believe that!?! So at least we know why regular shoes have not been fitting me. I'm also now the proud owner of pink sparkly NB shoes. They fit great and are a big help on crawling and trying to stand. Pictures to come of My Big Fat Jones Feet.

Creative counting
Get Cam to count for you some day, it's a hoot! He starts out really well and then hits the teens. " 13. 14. 16. 15. 17." Hmm there was a strange order there, oh well let's keep going. He gets thru the twenties just fine and moves into the thirties. Ok," 37. 38. 39. 100. Yeah, I win.". Wait a minute, did you miss the counting contest rules? Apparently Cam has re-written that book. Anyway we had a great.laugh in the car ride to Austin.

Pancakes with Santa
Mrs. Karis organizes our annual Pancakes with Santa breakfast each year. We were excited to have Kaiden and Zachary here to attend with us.

Santa & Mrs. Claus are quite popular this time of year. Mrs. Claus told me that they'd been visiting many of the local schools to visit the children. I can't imagine how Santa has time to do that and get all the presents ready for the boys and girls too.

The Christmas train
On Friday, December 12, we headed down to Alvin to ride the Christmas train (www.thechristmastrain.org). It was a huge hit for the kids and a nice way to view lights. I think they are done for this season, but we will go back next year.

Here comes Santa Claus . . .
Sorry it's taking me a while to post. As Jenny says, a post is not complete if it does not include pictures. Anyway, I just sat down and downloaded a whole slew of pics so I'll be uploading as quickly as I can on here.
First, here's our annual Christmas party with my mommy group. We've done something a little different each year, but it's so nice to come together with friend and Santa, of course, to celebrate.

Upsy Daisy & Cutie Patootie
Maggie has figured out that she can pull up on items, like chairs and couches. However, her problem becomes that she has no idea how to get back down once she's up. You might notice that her face is not quite as round as it has been. I mean just a little less, not too much. Anyway, as she crawls and gets into trouble around the house (especially loves Cameron's room), she's working off those baby pounds.

Here's my babies, of course, Cam is being a total HAM for the camera, like always. The clock piece Maggie is chewing on is the same one we took Cam's pic with 3 years ago that we loved so much too.

Shocking events
Two events have shocked me tonight.
First, our dear friend Brad did not receive good new from his doctors this week. His lung capacity has been severely weakened due to tumor growth. He now has oxygen to help him breath. I am really at a loss in trying to understand God's plan in all of this. I know it's not really for us to understand God's plans, but then again I'm only human. Please pray for Brad and Jenny as they work to figure out their next course of action. I cannot imagine being in their shoes right now, in fact at any point in the last 2 years.
Second shocking event of the night is that it has been snowing in Houston. How strange is that. The kids in our neighborhood were overjoyed and kept knocking on the door to tell us about it. Chris and I have seen snow in Lubbock, Dallas, and Austin over the years. However, the last time it snowed in Houston was in December of 2004 when we moved here. We were not in town at the time, as we had gone to Austin and Dallas to celebrate the holidays. In order for it to snow, it has to be very cold and if you didn't know it, I'm not a huge fan of cold. I will sleep with a blanket in some of the warmest conditions. I'm a chicken when it comes to cold. Chris went ahead and took Cam out to see the snow and make a mini snowman. We got some pics of the cars and our "Let it Snow" sign in the front yard. I'll have to post those tomorrow.
So our night had both good and bad news, while we tried to stay warm.

E-mail Santa
I know I'm writing a lot about Christmas when I should be in my craft area creating things for Christmas, but you'll appreciate this one too. You should do it with your kid, and when you are about to hit the submit button, turn up your speakers some as they have a little interaction with Santa that's cute.

25 Days of Christmas
I'm totally stealing this list from another blog (http://247moms.blogspot.com/2008/11/christmas-count-down-tradition.html). The mom on this blog has 5 kids, 5!! And she still has time to have a blog and do nifty things with her kids. These are some suggestions she had for making the holiday's fun for her family. Hmm, now let me see can I check off any of these? Maybe after this weekend I can cross off a few of them.

Christmas Countdown
Countdown Clocks
Is all your shopping done? Mine is not, I feel like I'm scrambling more this year than ever before. I was warned, I knew it was coming, but I didn't want to believe it. Having two kids seriously slows you down. Things that should only take 30 minutes end up taking hours. Yesterday we left MDO pickup at 1:30 to start a set of errands. We deposited a check at the bank, that one's easy, you just drive thru. (I wish I could do EVERYTHING drive thru) Then we hit the library, I did the drive-thru to return some books, but then we went in to find more. That took about an hour. Cam & Maggie had to spend ample time playing on the new carpets and with the new toys they just added to the kids area. Finally we headed to Wal-Mart, to pick up our Christmas cards and a few items to round out dinner. Oh, and as a distraction a happy meal for Cameron as I walked through.
So, if I didn't have kids, I would have run by the bank, dropped off the books at the library, taken about 10 minutes to pick up some for myself, run into Wally World to get the few things I needed and then be back home by 2:30. Nope, with kids life is so different, we weren't home until 4P. Just in time to defrost some chicken and start prepping for dinner, since that also takes quite a bit of time with two little helpers.
Don't get me wrong, I love my kids, they are a great addition to our family. However, they can seriously slow me down. Until you have them, you have no idea what that means. A bathroom break with a young child can end up taking 30 minutes because there might be a blowout and that requires cleaning of child, changing of clothes, and making sure they were really finished. I know other moms are laughing at this saying "Yep, know what you mean", and those that haven't had kids yet are saying "Great now I dont' want kids." The rewarding parts are while you are doing a diaper change, your baby looks at you and says "Momma!" Or you are the only one that can make things right for your kids when they are hurting. Or you get a just because kiss. The rewarding parts are as important a part of life as the slowing down. I guess it's good that the kids slow me down some days, I can enjoy their antics and entertainment more those days.
So if I get asked again if I'm ready for Christmas, have I completed all of my shopping, I'm just going to have to respond with "I have kids, so the answer is no!"

Saturday Shopping
So I've got two events that I'll be at this weekend toting my Tupperware wares. If you have time, please stop by and get into the holiday spirit.
First, I'll be at The Vine at Southeast Church of Christ, located at Bay Area Blvd and Pilgrims Point. We will start at 9A. The vendors vary widely and include both homemade goods to more commercial items. The ladies at our church and in our MDO program are quite crafty so you will find some unique and fun items here.
Second, I'll be at my friend Carrie's house. Below are the details for her event.

Tutu Cutie
