Swimming at Sarah's

Our friends Debra, Sarah & Preston invited us over to swim in their new pool in their backyard yesterday.  It is such a nice pool and a really great addition to their already beautiful home.  Of course, the kids hadn't seen Maggie all summer so first they had some cuddle time.

I must point out that both Sarah and Preston are absolute fish in the water.  I was so impressed with how well they handled themselves  in the water.  The above pic is right before Cam started flipping out because they had moved away from the steps.  He likes the water, but not enough to move away from the step area.  I guess we need some more lessons.
Maggie & Me in our wet  suits.
Maggie was so tired and knocked right out when I got her out of the water and dressed.  Preston was watching over her and making sure she didn't move anywhere.

Thank you Debra, Sarah & Preston for letting us enjoy your pool and for a yummy lunch.

Space Center & Squirrels

On Wednesday, after gym, we headed over to the Space Center to meet our friends Andrew & Abby.  Sam also came with us while his mom and sister went school clothes shopping.  There is an exhibit about the new Star Wars Clone Wars so the kids crawled on the "space ship."  Abby's  short so you can't see her behind it.  They also got to check out the Mayan Maze that is a part of the Daredevil Island exhibit.  However it was so crowded we didn't get to play on the other portions of the exhibit.
As we were leaving the boys looked over and we saw something strange.
This squirrel was just laid out on the concrete.  He was alive and had a nut in his mouth.  I have never seen a squirrel do this.  There has been much speculation on why he's like this - fell out of the tree, trying to stay cool, so hot he couldn't move another muscle.  What do you think?

Naked Skateboarder - View at your own risk!

That naked cowboy in NY has nothing on the naked skateboarder that lives in my house.  After bathtime the other night Cam streaked through the living room, ran into his room and promptly got on his skateboard.  And when I ask him what the picture is of he says, with a sly grin "Me, naked, on a skateboard."  Ah, the things boys do.

Maggie's Inhaler

So Maggie got a cold starting last Tuesday (7/29) and we were riding out the snotty nose pretty well until Saturday.  On Saturday I started to feel a wheeze in her chest, so Monday I finally got her into the doctor.  The doc felt the best course of action was to give Maggie an inhaler to help open up her bronchial tubes.  She didn't want to say she had bronchitis or asthma (like Cam), but wanted me to try using the inhaler to see if it helped.
The inhaler has really helped and she even slept a lot better last night.  My hope is that asthma type qualities do not continue to crop in both of the kids much longer.  I'd much prefer for them to be strong and healthy without the aid of inhalers.  It seems that Houston brings out the worst in my allergies as well.  Ugh, what to do.

Praise Report!

I have to send this note out because I'm so excited and I've been updating you guys on Brad and Jenny through this whole ordeal.  The doctor in Germany finally read Brad's CT scans and they show that the tumor has STOPPED growing!  This is such awesome news.  Yes we wanted it to shrink too, but just that it's stopped is awesome.  The idea of "alternative" treatment is not always met with open arms and Brad was really not completely on board with everything Dr. T was doing, like acupuncture.   With the positive report (in just a few months) Brad has a renewed energy and is ready to continue his treatments to make the tumor shrink.

Yeah!  Now our golf tournament will be even more exciting with this news.

Thank you for your prayers and thoughts and more.  Even though you may not know Brad & Jenny personally they thank you too.
